Thailand's Most Expensive Condo: Bangkok Penthouse Sells for Over $11.8 Million in Landmark Transaction at SCOPE Langsuan

In a significant milestone for Thailand's real estate market, a penthouse within a 34-story tower in Bangkok has been purchased for 436 million Thai baht (equivalent to $11.832 million), marking the highest price ever paid for a condominium in the country, as reported by the developer, Scope Co.

The opulent penthouse, encompassing nearly 4,700 square feet, was listed for just one week before swiftly finding a buyer, according to property records. The tower, known as Scope Langsuan, boasts a prime location in Lumphini, recognized as one of Bangkok's most sought-after and dynamically evolving neighborhoods. The architectural design was orchestrated by the renowned New York City-based firm KPF, with interiors meticulously crafted by designer Thomas Juul-Hansen.

It should be noted that Mansion Global was unable to independently verify the record-breaking sale or ascertain the identity of the purchaser. Representatives from the developer have opted not to comment on the buyer's details.

This four-bedroom, five-bathroom penthouse offers an expansive and open layout, characterized by soaring 13-foot ceilings and extensive glass walls, a design element that carries equal importance both for the exterior and interior spaces.

KPF described the building's design, stating that the "dynamic facade features delicate glass 'creases' and stainless steel fins which ripple across the building's surface, imitating the dynamic visual rhythm of traditional multi-layered Thai roofs." This design not only facilitates private balconies but also creates a striking visual experience for both residents gazing out over the city and external observers. Scope Langsuan is founded on the core Thai values of hospitality and generosity, embodied by the building's openness and interior visibility.

The penthouse's features also include a well-appointed kitchen from the German brand Bulthaup, equipped with top-tier appliances from Gaggeneau and Sub-Zero, including a wine refrigerator, as showcased in the listing photos. Additionally, there is a "sunset lounge" adjoining the balcony, providing an indoor-outdoor living experience.

Designer Thomas Juul-Hansen played a pivotal role in establishing the penthouse's neutral color palette and clean, contemporary lines, and he also curated the accompanying furnishings. This encompasses everything from the grand dining table for ten to the bespoke stonework featured in the primary bedroom suite. Furthermore, the residence boasts an impressive dressing room furnished by Lema, a Milan-based furniture store.

Notably, the penthouse includes a private elevator and a generous allocation of five parking spaces in the fully automated subterranean garage within the building. Among the array of amenities offered in the 133-unit tower are an outdoor terrace, a children's playroom, several communal areas, and a pool and fitness center.
